Our hope and expectations are that this litter will give us puppies with good temperaments, good health, good looks and good working skills. We are very excited about this combination!
Arwen is the promising little girl that we kept from our first litter. And we are so proud of her, both from her everyday life, in the show ring and at the Agility court! She is the easiest dog to live with. So kind with everyone. She is the sweetest dog, and she charm everyone on her way. She is almost never in a leash. She is very obedient and she never chases cats or rabbits when she is unleashed.
Arwen has done well in the show ring even from limited showing. She has a well built body, lovely expression and with sound, good movements. She gained the Nordic Junior Winner title 2010 in a very strong class, and she has several CQ's and a best bitch 2 placement. She also has done very well at the two Rhodesian Ridgeback Specialty she has attended. At the big Nordic Winner Show in Stockholm in December 2011 she was placed as nr 3 with Excellent in a big, strong Openclass.
Arwen is also our big Agility Star. She train Agility every week, and from 3 starting official competitions she has won 2 of them, and got a 2nd place in the 3rd. At her debut at NKK Stavanger she also gained her first Leg (she needs 3 Legs to reach Class 2). It was really huge to stand on the 1st place with a Ridgeback on the Agility competition in both NKK Stavanger and NKK Hamar 2011. It's not often a Ridgeback wins. She has also started at lots of unofficial competitions, and she and sister Almea shared an overall 4th place out of 30 starting dogs (all breeds) at the Agility Cup Sørlandet 2011. See more here. We think she is the only RR in Norway in 2011 that has won that much, so she will probably be the Top Winning Agility Ridgeback in Norway 2011.
Arjuna is a wonderful Dutch male, imported to Sweden. I have followed him since 2006, and I do remember the first time I saw him, in and outside the showring at NKK Hamar at Nordic Winner Show 06 were he was placed as 2nd best junior (1 placement from the title). Since then I have met him and his owners several times, and we have always had a nice chat.
Arjuna is a handsome dog with a well built body, very nice topline and a good front. He has done very well in the show ring, and are a Swedish Show Champion.
Arjuna is known for his good mentality. He is a nerve steady, stable male. He always appears balanced and 'listen' to the surroundings before he does anything. It is easy to be fooled by his calm but inside there is plenty of power and courage. Arjuna is a cuddly guy with his family and those who are close to them, but he is not that interested in strangers. A true Ridgeback. He is a dog that is very easy to bring around because he is so confident in himself and because he adapts to the situation he is in.
He has proven to be a good stud-dog, and has passed on his wonderful temperament to his offspring.
Arjuna is a very good tracker, and he easily gained his tracking champion title. He won SRRS's SM in tracking in 2008 and 2010, and he ended up as 2nd best tracking Ridgeback in Sweden in 2007 and 2008.
The best place in the world for Arjuna is in the woods. He is one of few Ridgeback that actually are used in practical hunting. They hunt primarily wild board, deer and roe deer. He live together with two of his offspring (Klever and Karisma), and they also are used in practical hunting.
Requirements for Adorean puppy buyers:
Kennel Adorea only sell puppies to active people who have thought carefully trough what it means to have a Ridgeback. The Ridgeback is a dog that deserves to be activated, and they will then be a more harmonious dog.
You must be able to take a holyday or have the opportunity to bring your puppy to work the first time after delivery. The next few months you also must have arranged so that the puppy will not be home alone all day.
You must check if anyone in the family are allergic before you even consider to buy a puppy.
You must have time to activate and socialize your puppy so it gets the best conditions in life.
You must afford to give the dog quality food, equipment, dog courses, vet visits, vaccinations and insurance.
You must x-ray the dog for HD and AA at approx. 18 months of age, and bring the dog to the vet when he needs it.
You must give the dog a good, caring, active and permanent home. The dog must become a part of the family.
I also want to meet you before deciding whether you get a puppy. Both you and I must feel that it's okay since we will be in touch for many years to come. Do you live very far north or abroad, we can use references.
If you are on many puppy lists I would appreciate if you keep me informed about it, and let me know if you buy another puppy.
We never know how many puppies there are, so nobody gets promise of a puppy before they are born.
We put a lot of effort in socializing the puppies. They will meet all kind of people in all ages and sizes. Meet different dogs and other animals. Drive a lot of car so they will be confident with that on their journey to their new home.
The first 3 weeks the pups will live in a puppy pen in a quiet room. When they turn 3 weeks they will move to the living room and we will start to welcome visitors. They will experience lots of things and sounds in the house. When they are 5 weeks old we will start to drive car with the pups, and later go on adventurous trips with the pups. They will also spend a lot of time outside exploring lots of things, sounds and places. It's so important that they get socialized!
The puppies will be delivered with: NKK`s (Norwegian Kennel Club) buyers contract, pedigree, veterinary certification, dewormed 4 times, implanted ID tag, lots of info, as well as follow ups/contact with us as long as the dog lives.
You can follow their everyday life from the birth up to delivery in a puppy blog. Here is the puppy blog from our first litter. I hope the buyers will send many pictures and information about their pups growing up.
In every litter there can be born puppies that are not potential showdogs. They can have an extra crown in their ridge, they can have a kinked tail or they can be born without a ridge. They are as good as any, and we seek loving homes for them too.
