After two years without Ridgeback puppies here at Kennel Adorea, we are more than happy to soon welcome our P-litter.
Both parents are outstanding examples of the breed—health tested, with excellent temperaments and strong pedigrees. And they have of course both been healthy all life. This is a carefully planned litter with focus on health, character, and confirmation.
About Madonna
The mom-to-be is our sweet-tempered and easygoing Madonna. She is calm and kind, and a true joy to live with. She is wonderful with children. She handles new environments with ease and adapts nicely to both quiet days at home and adventures in the forest or by the sea. She’s the easiest Ridgeback I’ve ever had -reliable, happy, gentle, and trustworthy. She can be off leash almost anywhere and she always stays close, always checks in. Her calm energy is exactly what we hope she’ll pass on to her puppies.
Madonna has been the perfect puppy aunt for our previous litters, both Tollers and Ridgebacks. She plays gently, sets healthy boundaries, and radiates calm—a grounding presence for tiny, curious minds. Watching her care for puppies has always made me excited for the day she’d have her own, and I’m sure she’ll embrace motherhood with the same grace and quiet confidence that defines her every day.
Here are some pics of Madonnas parents and the M-litters 8 weeks here at Kennel Adorea. So you can see how much they experienced.
Our first Ridgeback brood bitch, and the one all Ridgeback Adoreans inherited their soulful dark eyes and sweet temper from, was Rex Ventors Mea Adorea, born in 2006. She was a truly special girl, and breeder Veronica Thorén and I have stayed in touch ever since. That makes this upcoming litter feel extra special, as this is the very first time I’m using a Rex Ventor male in my breeding program. Madonna also reminds me a lot about Mea.
I’m so grateful to owners Maria and Veronica for allowing me to use Rex Ventors Weston with Madonna—and for all the help with the mating while I was away at Crufts. Madonna and Weston actually had a date a year ago, but unfortunately it didn’t result in puppies. That makes this successful second attempt feel even more special. We’ve truly been longing for these Madonna–Weston puppies. ❤️
About Weston
I have been following and admiring Rex Ventors Weston and his sister Wynja from the whelping box all the way into adulthood. Their conformation is exactly what I love in the breed. Wynja reminds me so much of Rex Ventors Helinn, the mother of my beloved Mea.
Weston is a very happy dog who has a positive attitude in every situation. He is comfortable in different environments, be it on the boat, at the office, the golf course or the restaurant. He loves people and food. He is a cool and relaxed companion who tags along for every adventure. He is a true family dog and not a one person dog (although mum is no 1). Weston has plenty of energy and loves to work and do tracking. He really enjoys doggy parkour and tracking for wild game in the forest.
You can see lot’s of pictures of Weston HERE.
Weston has done a very nice BPH (Behavior and Personality Assessment) and has already sired one promising litter — Elvis-litter at Kennel Hidaya in the Netherlands.
Madonna and Weston complement each other in so many ways. She is calm, while he’s more energetic. He has some hunting instinct, while she has none. Both are on the smaller side of the standard, which I like.
This litter has been carefully planned and eagerly awaited, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for these puppies!
Thank you Anaelle for the beautiful ad.
Expected due date: May 5th, 2025

Not All Puppies Are Show Dogs
In every litter, there may be puppies that are not suitable for the show ring. Some may have an extra crown in their ridge, a kinked tail, or be born without a ridge altogether. These puppies are just as wonderful, loving, and healthy as their show-potential siblings.
At Kennel Adorea, we always welcome applications from non-show homes that can provide an active, responsible, and loving environment for these equally special puppies.
The «P»-Names
All puppies in this litter will have names that begin with the letter «P». The puppy buyers get to choose the name themselves, and we encourage you to use the «P-name» as the dog’s everyday name. It’s part of what connects each puppy back to this special litter at Kennel Adorea.
The Pup’s First 8 Weeks at Kennel Adorea
We put a lot of love and effort into socializing our puppies during their first 8 weeks.
-
They will meet people of all ages and sizes, interact with different dogs, and perhaps encounter other animals.
-
The pups will also travel by car frequently to help them feel confident and calm during the journey to their new homes.
Early Weeks:
-
For the first two weeks, the puppies stay in a quiet room in a cozy puppy pen.
-
At around 2 weeks of age, they move to the home office.
-
When they are around 4 weeks, they move again to a large puppy garden in the living room.
-
From this point, they will experience the full range of household sounds and daily life.
Later Weeks:
-
At 6 weeks, we start car trips and small adventures to build confidence and curiosity.
-
They will also spend a lot of time outside exploring different environments.
-
Our three children handle the puppies daily from birth until they leave for their new homes—early socialization is key!
When They Leave Us:
All puppies will go to their new homes with:
-
NKK (Norwegian Kennel Club) buyer’s contract
-
Pedigree
-
Veterinary certification
-
Deworming
-
Implanted ID tag
-
A wealth of information
-
Puppy gifts
-
Starter food
-
Ongoing support from us for the dog’s entire life
Kennel Adorea will decide around 7–7.5 weeks of age which puppy goes to which home. To help us make the best match, we’ll need to know what your plans and lifestyle are.
You can follow the litter’s everyday life from birth to delivery in a dedicated photo album on our Facebook page!
Are You the Right Home for a Ridgeback Puppy?
At Kennel Adorea, we only sell puppies to active people who have carefully considered what it truly means to own a Rhodesian Ridgeback. This is a breed that needs both physical and mental stimulation to thrive. A well-activated Ridgeback is a more harmonious and balanced companion.
Before getting a puppy from us, here are some important things to consider:
-
Time off for the puppy: You must be able to take time off work or have the opportunity to bring the puppy with you during the first period after delivery. For the next few months, you must have arrangements so the puppy is not left alone all day.
-
Allergy check: Please make sure no one in the household is allergic to dogs before considering a puppy.
-
Socialization and stimulation: You must have the time and energy to activate and socialize your puppy, giving it the best foundation for a happy life.
-
Financial responsibility: You must be able to afford quality food, proper equipment, dog courses, vet visits, vaccinations, and insurance.
-
Health checks: You are required to X-ray your dog for hip and elbow dysplasia (HD and AA) around 12–18 months of age, and to visit the vet whenever needed.
-
Lifetime commitment: You must be able to offer a loving, active, and permanent home. The dog should be an integrated part of your family.
I would also like to meet you before deciding if you’re the right match for one of our puppies. It’s important that both you and I feel comfortable with the decision, as we will be in touch for many years ahead. If you live far north or abroad, references and online meetings can be arranged.
Lastly, if you are on multiple puppy lists, I appreciate open communication. Please keep me updated and let me know if you decide to buy a puppy elsewhere.
